Author’s recommendation

The route is passable from April to November. Some areas in the plain can be visited all year round.

Outside the summer flowering period, spring (May, June) and autumn (September, October) are ideal, especially for photographers and discovery enthusiasts. And most offers are available to welcome you.

If you want to admire the lavender in bloom, the months of June and July are those to privilege. We invite you to consult the flowering periods according to the geographical sectors.

Turn-by-turn directions

From Castellane, the route takes the famous Route Napoléon to Séranon.

Lavender is discreet in this sector. However, by looking good, it is found in large quantities in the wild, to give bluish tints to the southern slopes of the surrounding mountains.

At Seranon, turn left towards the plateau of Caussols, famous for its observatory. It is also a place for a walk and unique discovery just minutes from the Côte d'Azur.

Then, the descent to Grasse, via the beautiful village of Gourdon, reaches the suburbs of the city. Here, the perfume is king. Grasse is of course the world capital of perfumery, it is also a city with rich medieval heritage. It's also the end of your journey in Provence. The sea is just a few steps ...
